About Seilper

Seilper, Per Oeveras, was born in 1948, and has been a professional boat builder and yachtsman since 1969. My place of work for almost 40 years is today named STX Norway Offshore AS Langsten. There I have had many different challenges like HR Manager and Procurement Manager. My executive position today is Project Manager and my recent project were the advanced seismic vessels, "Ramform Sovereign" and "Ramform Sterling" for PGS.

Since childhood I have always been addicted to the sea and to boats. From 1972 I started learning to sail, as regatta crew on various local sail yachts. In 1976 I completed our first sailboat, a Westkapp 23 (previous IW23). Our boat today is the fourth "Tia Maria", a Hanse 411.

My wife and my three sons are as addicted to the sea, sailing and boating as myself. Since 1980 we have together been noticed for our long summer sails as well as our results in the major regattas on the North West coast of Norway. Our last "stunt" together was in 2008 by winning our class on both legs in Shetland Race, and the Over All in total.

Over a period of 10 years I was involved in sailing the Dragon one-type class. Together with my two "dragon companions" we won two gold, two silver and one bronze medal in the Norwegian Dragon Championship. I have been trainer for dinghy sailors in my area over a period of 12 years, and elected representative in the Møre and Romsdal Board of Sailing over several periods.

My regatta sailing activities are now decreasing and I also intend to scale down my professional activities. I plan to go more sailing and bring companion sailors and guests around on sailing adventures. My personal company "Seilper" was founded in 2003 and I now intend to spend more time and resources in further development of this concept. I have the D5LA certificate and the ISAF Offshore Personal Survival Course of 2008. A more extensive CV will be forwarded upon request.
I speak Norwegian and English, partly German and some French and Spanish.
